The Rebuild day 2


Jobs for today


Steering lock
lower triple clamp
Swing arm
Oil tank
Tank support rubber
Coil carriers
Rear shocks









That's the lock and cover fitted.















Fit Bushes in each end not forgetting the spacer in the middle. Plenty of grease, also there is a grease nipple fitted to the top its a 45 degree type so you can access from the side.






Swing arm in place.










Bottom bearing fitted to the bottom yoke.











Oil tank on.









Coli clamps on 3 of course.










Shocks on.











Tank support rubber was a bit of a job.









Doesn't look much but starting to look more like a bike. looking good to me

Clocks

Now to freshen up the clocks


Old and faded.














Strip off the rim carefully not to damage.










First coat of flow orange.













Two coats should do it.












Looking good me thinks.













No to the speedo.










Just the Needle on this one and a good gentle clean of the face and glass.












Looking a lot better and saved some cash by doing it myself.















On the bike and looking gooooooood.

The rebuild day 1

Bench ready in anticipation!












Frame finally back from the powder coaters, Paul did a great job just not quick enough for me,,,, well I might be a bit impatient some times.












On the lift.  First job remove old head bearing. First the top then the bottom. I left these in for the powder coating just to keep the pipe clean for the new bearings.
















The seat is nice and clean for the new taper bearing race.










First as always in the freezer with the race to shrink a tiny bit.




Tap in place. As one is cold the other is room temp so it slides in OK.










Next the center stand.









NOS pin and spring ready.











Nice snug fit plenty of copper grease.














Washer and spit pin fitted.
